I read Isaac's Storm for a class in school. I originally thought that it was boring and not a very good read, but as I got further into the book, I started to enjoy the story and got some factual pieces too. It is based in Galveston in 1900 when the deadliest hurricane in history struck. Isaac was a meteorologist at the time and made huge miscalculations. You learn a little bit about hurricanes throughout the book and how they form and act. I enjoyed the fact that you got some first hand accounts of the hurricane and what happened. The book had a powerful message due to the personal stories and accounts of the hurricane. Even though I thought that this book would just be a boring read for a class, I ended up enjoying it and would recommend it to everyone.
