Prince of Thorns

After reading the series A Song of Ice and Fire, I never thought I would find a book that rivaled its greatness. But after searching for similar books, I stumbled upon Prince of Thorns. Part of the Broken Empire series, this book is of the fantasy genre that is placed in medieval times. The main character, Prince Honorous Jorg Ancrath was torn from his family after the Count of Renar murdered his mother and brother. He left his home and became the leader of a bloodthirsty band of thugs by the age of thirteen. He now wants to be king by fifteen. This book is very detailed and it can be hard to tell who is good and who is bad. I personally found it hard to understand at times, but I got the gist of what had happened. I learned to pay attention and focus on the book. I enjoyed the book and recommend it to anyone who has a high reading level, but it can be a let down after reading A Song of Ice and Fire.
