Kurt Austin works for the National Underwater and Marine Agency and is on a dive with his partner Joe Zavala in the Mediterranean looking for relics when a distress signal reaches him. A mysterious mist covers a nearby island causing people to go into a coma-like state. Kurt and Joe not only have to figure out the antidote, but the origins to this mist. However, the truth is guarded by many secrets and involves an organization called Osiris run by a man named Tariq Shakir. Full of action and twists, Cussler always keeps you on your toes through amazing read.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was a change of pace for me as it was of moderate difficulty and held my attention. I enjoyed the suspense and I struggled to put the book down after I started it. I recommend the book to young adults who want an exciting and suspenseful thriller.
